Ganirelix je indikován k prevenci předčasného vzestupu luteinizačního hormonu (LH) u žen, které
podstupují řízenou hyperstimulaci ovarií (controlled ovarian hyperstimulation - COH) pro techniky
asistované reprodukce (assisted reproduction techniques - ART).
V klinických hodnoceních byl genirelix použit s rekombinantním lidským folikuly stimulujícím
hormonem (FSH) nebo korifolitropinem alfa, dlouhodobým folikulárním stimulátorem.
